			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Climate change has the potential to bear upon a company&#8217;s position, strategies and prospects.  Directors are consequently obliged under the Corporations Act (s 180) to exercise care and diligence, and under S 299A to inlcude information in annual reports that shareholders require to make an informed assessment of the company&#8217;s financial position, business strategies and prospects (Baker &amp; McKenzie, 2008).  Also, under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act (NGERS), participating businesses have an obligation to report greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption and energy production from 1 July 2008.  Under the NGERS CEOs are obligated to ensure regular assessment of compliance, implementing recommendations and ensuring employees are aware of their record keeping and other obligations.</p>
